Guadalajara Restaurante
Mexicano. 200 21st Street. 433-0140. / 509 Hilltop
Plaza. 491-8299. / 2272 West Great Neck Road. 481-5511. Food-3. Service-3.
Atmosphere-3. If you like Mexican, you love this restaurant. Choose open
air or inside dining. We prefer the sidewalk tables and watching all the
people go by. The Rodriquez family pride is evident in the attitude of the
waiters. Authentic Mexican staff (OK, they could have been actors with
great accents!) add to the atmosphere. If you have trouble communicating,
just order by number. Choose from 24 dinner combos or 28 lunch combos.
Dinner is $7.25; lunch $6. The fajitas cost a little more, but are great
and loaded with meat . Chips and salsa kept you munching while you waited
for your order which took less than 10 minutes. The margaritas come
standard with Cuervo and the shredded cheese was white, not yellow. June

Capes Café.
20th and Oceanfront in Capes Motel. 428-5421. Food-2;
Service-3; Atmosphere-3. If you want a Mexican restaurant on the
boardwalk, this is the one – actually the only one! Outdoor dining (4
tables) is taken to the max: there is no roof, no walls, and no columns to
block the view. Just pray it doesn’t rain as there are only 3 tables and a
bar inside. But the place was fun. The waitress and owner are very helpful
and the owner enjoys chatting with the customers. Prices are easy on the
budget. Appetizers $4, sandwiches and burgers are $5 or less, entrees from
$4 to $14, with most in the $7 range. Pizzas $12. Ice cream is it for
dessert. Parking is on the street or the 19th and Pacific
city lot. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. July 03
